porcelain?
1. Porcelain is the most rigid, reliable and durable material on the market.
Technical porcelain is being produced for over 100 year. It is porcelain
that continues to serve the insulation industry, with insulators‘ lifetime
track record of over 50 years.
2. Alumina porcelain is NOT affected by aging.
Due to its extremely stable physical properties and absence of plastic
deformation, porcelain remains the most spread and commonly used
insulating materials on the market.
It has a life time of several decades (or centuries) under normal
service conditions and stress
3. Porcelain has excellent thermal properties
From below freezing to high heats, porcelain is thermally highly stable
and resilient material, suitable for thermally challenging application.
- Very good extreme temperature resistance
- Low thermal conductivity

Temperature has substantial effects on organic materials such as
composite; it doubles the rate of aging every 10°C.

Porcelain remains unaffected by corona unlike composite, which gets
damaged, and consequently loses its mechanical strength

Mechanical strength of porcelain insulators ensures safer transport and
much less damage during the delivery.
The strength and rigidity of porcelain insulators prevents deflection and
damage during the transport and installation (long rods).
6. Biological factor risk resistance
There is no report on microorganisms inhabiting porcelain.
Rodent and birds remains a major issue both in transport, warehouse

No known predator to porcelain!
7. Resistance to Climate Stresses
Climatic conditions and environmental stresses have a significant
impact on performance of insulators, but porcelain is not affected.
There are numerous environmental stresses with reciprocal effect that
potentially affect the performance of insulators, but they don´t affect
porcelain:
- UV radiation
- Wind erosion
- Rain erosion
- Extreme temperatures
- Etc.
